Abstract:
After more than ten years of construction and development, China Virtual Observatory (China-VO) has become an important technology and resource platform to support astronomical observation, research and teaching. With the advent of multi-message astronomy and time-domain astronomy, the VO also needs to upgrade its core capabilities to provide astronomers with more precise service and technical support. To this end, based on the development direction of astronomy and the development trend of information technology, the China VO team combed a list of core technology requirements of VO, and conducted a survey on VO experts and users of China VO platform. Through the statistics and analysis of the survey results, China VO has defined the main efforts and goals for the next period of time, plans to adopt a platform-based development model, and open third-party development interfaces to attract more interested developers, who can make more practical tools based on VO resources, to better realize the transition of resources and technology to services.
