The Spikes Identification of High Energy Telescope Onboard Insight-HXMT

  • Spikes exist in the raw light curves of the High Energy Telescope (HE) onboard Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which has brought data analysis of HE with a lot of negative influence, especially for the study of light curves and energy spectra. A large amount of spikes are accumulated and these properties, such as time interval, duration time, channel distribution, are studied using statistical method. Base on these performances in light curves, two methods of spikes identification are established. In this work, the properties and identification methods of spikes are introduced, which has many advantages over methods using certain eigenfunctions such as SNR.
