The Necessity and Feasibility of a Scientific CCD Attached to the LLMC

  • The fundamental astrometry is now developing in the direction of observing very faint and a great number of star. The purpose of the LLMC is to construct a quasi-inertial reference frame and to provide some useful inform ation for the study of our solar system and the Galaxy. Therefore, it is necessary to have a scientific CCD attached to the LLM C. On the other hand, since the measuring precision of all instrumental errors is comparable to the positional precision of the scientific CCD, it is feasibility that high precise absolute observation can be carried out after a scientific CCD is attached to the LLMC.
