Determination of the Distance to a Non-Coorperative Target in Laser Ranging with Separate Optical Paths

Abstract
The Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) is currently one of main approaches in space-to-earth distance measurements, and it is widely applied in geodynamics and geodesy. An SLR experiment with non-corrperative target(s) will be carried out in the Yunnan Observatory. In such an experiment laser emitting and receiving are through two different telescopes adjacent to each other. Here we introduce a method of determining the range for such an SLR system, and give corresponding computing formulae, which could be references for data processing in SLR with separate optical paths.
