Design of a Data Processing System for Solar Radio Spectral Observations

Abstract
The Chinese Solar Broadband Radio Spectrometers (SBRS) has been playing an important role in the research and international collaboration of the solar physics. In order to advance the communication and collaboration among the international solar-physics community, facilitate the mining of the data from observation, and enhance scientific output, we consider it very important to develop an easily accessible data processing system compatible with the international Solar Soft Ware (SSW). This system(1) will be built according to the SSW standards and can be run under the environment of SSW or independently, (2) will have a new interface which is more easily accessible for users and more suitable for advanced numerical analyses, (3) will have more standardized and better-defined function modules/routine flows to reduce running errors, and have many imperative functions (including data calibration and extraction of characteristic information) perfected to open new ways and save time for scientific research, and (4) will adopt reliable and easily upgradable database of MySQL relational database management system to allow browsing, searching, and batch-downloading data. In addition, the development of the data processing system of SBRS will provide useful experience for constructing the Chinese Spectral Radio Heliograph (CSRH) and other observatories.
