Abstract
This paper discusses a method to precisely adjust the polar axis of a radio telescope antenna with a CCD camera. The accuracy of the polar axis is crucial to imaging of a radio telescope, because pointing accuracy and image quality are related to the accuracy. The deviation angle of the polar axis can be precisely measured by a CCD. The measurement method can improve pointing accuracy and image quality. If a computer system is further used, the method can adjust multiple radio antennas at the same time, which increases the efficiency. The detection and correction of the deviation of the polar axis are timely with this method which ensures the improvement of data quality.
