Scientific Objectives and Technical Design of a Meter-Wave Spectrometer for Solar Radio Observation

  • In this paper, we describe the scientific objectives and technical design of a new solar radio spectrometer working in the frequency range from 70 to 700 MHz(meter wave range). We also give the parameters of an 11-meter mesh antenna, a receiver system, and a digital spectrometer. We subsequently estimate the system noise coefficients, sensitivities, lowest observable flux densities, and input noise powers before the LNA(Low Noise Amplifier). The spectral resolution of this spectrometer is better than 0.2 MHz and the time resolution is 2 ms.
