Design and Implementation of a VLBI MK5B Channel Check Software

The upgrades of the international VLBI special harddisk recording system from MK5A to MK5B causes significant changes of the recorded data format. These changes make an old VLBI channel check software unusable. We design a VLBI channel check software compatible with the MK5B format.Two important purposes of the software are to check the readability and to confirm the parameter settings of the receiver and VLBI data acquisition system. Object-oriented techniques have been used to design the MK5B VLBI Channel Check Software to take into account its maintainability and portability. Experiments of processing two sets of data with the software yield correct results and show that the software can meet practical requirements.
