Study of a Hartmann Wavefront Sensor Sytem for Solar Observation

  • Using the observational data from the Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) aboard the HINODE satellite,we compute the spatial spectra and correlation coefficients of solar granulations and the umbra and penumbra of a sunspot.We analyze the influence of solar image structural differences on accuracies of a Hartmann wavefront sensor system for solar observation.As our calculation and analysis show,when the subaperture wavefront tilt is less than 0.25" and the sampling time is small enough (-within 2 mimutes for granulations or within 4 minutes for the unbra/penumbra of a sunspot),the influence is little.The influence will increase with wavefront distortion.These results can serve as references for developing and using of a Hartmann wavefront sensor for solar observation.
