Theoretical Improvement of Methods for Judging the Synchronization of Self Rotations of Stars in a Spectroscopic Binary System

  • This paper provides certain theoretical improvement of the formulas for judging the synchronization of self rotations of stars in a spectroscopic binary system based on a previous paper. The improvement for the formulas of a double-line spectroscopic binary-star system is mainly in that the mass ratio q1, 2 is replaced by the observable semi-amplitudes of the radial-velocity curve, K1, 2.The author also supplies two methods for the formulas of single-line spectroscopic binary stars in addition to the method in the previous paper. The author lists the calculation and judgment results for the synchronization of self rotations in six spectroscopic binary systems with the new formulas. The results obtained are finally summarized, which leads to certain expectation about the future direction of such research.
