Study on the Characteristic of Laser Ranging Based on Diffuse Reflection

  • The equations of Laser Ranging Based on Diffuse Reflection (LRBDR) for different models of target reflection are analyzed.General equations are derived theoretically for LRBDR using a 1.2m telescope by comparing the characteristics of Satellite Laser Ranging for cooperative targets to those of LRBDR.These equations involve the target shape, reflectivity, and diffuse-refection distribution function of the target surface.Finally, a test of LRBDR with a ground-based target has been carried out, and it is taken as an example of how to measure the specific parameters in the equations.
