Abstract
FITS is the most commonly used digital file format in astronomy. The most useful techniques are gathered here to deal with files of FITS format, such as checking the file integrity, viewing the file header and the content, coding the characters of the image with pseudo-color, transforming the file format, compressing the data, and abstracting the implicative information from the solar observation and so on. These techniques on dealing with files of FITS format could be a good reference to astronomers and popular scientists.
