Abstract
The meteorological observations at the astronomical candidate sites in Oma, Tibet and Kalasu, Pamirs from Aug. 2005 to Dec. 2006 are studied.. The wind speeds, winds direction, temperatures and relative humidities at the sites are characterized.. The results are compared to the conditions at the nearby local meteorological stations and the astronomical observatories abroad, to investigate possible correlations and to evaluate the astroclimate conditions of candidate sites.. The date from meteorological monitoring could provide the essential evidence for astronomical site choice in west China.
