The Application of the Tape Encoder and Ring Encoder on the 2.16m Telescope
At present, the tape encoder and ring encoder are a new types of the position transducers. In this paper we describe the principle of them. The paper also introduces their installation and operation on the 2.16m telescope. They improve the precision of the pointing and tracing, thereby the telescope effeciency is enhanced effectively.
