The Present and Future in Solar Activity Research

The present situation in the study of solar act ivity in China and abroad is briefly discussed. It is pointed out that due to effects of solar activity on the earth and human life, particularly with the development of space explorat ion and technology, the need for solar activity study is more urgent and more attent ion is called to the research of solar activity by the governments all over the world. Under this condition, with the progressing of high technologies and satellite surveying, a new era of solar act ivity study will be seen in the twenty-first century. The paper also gives suggestions for future direction, emphasis and measures in solar activity research in China.
