Observation and Analysis of the Accuracy of Tracking and Pointing for Satellite Using 1.2m Telescope

  • The observation and data analysis of the Topex satellite on April 17, 2000 are given in this paper. The observational data from a Video CCD installed on the 1.2m telescope is disposed using collecting and processing software for the video images. A group of independent data is composed of 10 images and 32 groups are observed. The influence of the timing effects in the results with a 2th order least squares polynomial is separated and finally the accuracy of the telescope tracking and pointing is 2 arcsec. It is shown that the influence of the timing effects is an important factor.
