Observation and Analysis of the Accuracy of Tracking and Pointing for Satellite Using 1.2m Telescope

The observation and data analysis of the Topex satellite on April 17, 2000 are given in this paper. The observational data from a Video CCD installed on the 1.2m telescope is disposed using collecting and processing software for the video images. A group of independent data is composed of 10 images and 32 groups are observed. The influence of the timing effects in the results with a 2th order least squares polynomial is separated and finally the accuracy of the telescope tracking and pointing is 2 arcsec. It is shown that the influence of the timing effects is an important factor.
