Estimation for the Secular Influence of Solar Mass-Loss on the Change of the Orbit of the Earth

  • The author investigates the secular influence of solar mass-loss on the change of the orbit of the earth. The solar mass-loss is due to the photon radiation or nuclear buring and solar wind. The influences of solar mass-loss on the change rate of the semi-major axis and the orbital period of the earth could be happened while the Sun stays on the main-sequence and evolves as a red giant on the post-main sequence. This is estimated by using the central body as a variable mass in the problem of two bodies of the Jeans' theory. It is shown that the influence of solar mass-loss on the orbit of the earth at the post-main sequence is large than that at the main sequence.
