Relationship Between Solar Activities and Large Flood in the Middle Latitude Regions of the Earth

  • It is demonstrated in this paper that there is a close relation between solar activities and occurrence of large flood in the middle latitude (20°~40°)regions of the Earth,and a statistical regularity is found by using two records of the large flood occurring at the Jianghan River of South Korea and at the Yingzhi River of China.The main result is that occurrence of large flood in the middle latitude is negatively correlated with solar activities,that is to asy,large flood usually occurs at the time when the sun is rather quiet.At last it is inferred that the possibility of large flood occurring at the Yingzhi River in the following several years will be much small.
