Abstract
A comparatively simple method is used in this paper to calculate the deviations from thermodynamical equilibrium of solar prominences.It is shown that the excitation temperatures derived from the Dalmcr lines of hydrogen do not approach the electron temperature.Therefore the deviations from thermodynamical equilibrium of high energy states cannot be neglected.From this we think that the study of Svestka on the deviations from thermodynamical equilibrium of flares is worthy of reconsideraton.
