Shell Star 48 Lib: Its Spectrum Observations and Calculations

The paper presents new CCD profiles of the shell star 48 Lib, A well-known variable Be star.The lines reveal the shell star 48 Lib with a global shell.By carefully analyzing the profiles of the lines, we conclude the result of the star as follows:probable 9.69×10^-5M⊙ of the shell mass, the 49 star radius of the shell's thickness, about the 7.7×10^-5M⊙/yr of the wind massloss-rate, 309km/sec of the radius wind velocity and 350 km/sec of the rotation velocity.Our calculations first show that the middle velocity graduation, mass losing, sui table temperature distribution and other physical conditions may contribute to the formation of the line shapes from P Cyg type to two-peak type profiles.
