Abstract
We use the multi-wavelength solar spectrograph of the Purple Mountain Observatory to observe the spectra of solar flares. With this instrument the spectra of flares can be photographed almost simultaneously in the following nine spectral regions: Hα、D、Mg、Hβ、Hγ、H、Hδ-K、H9-H12, H13-H∞. The diameter of the solar image is 11.2cm. The measured spectral resolving power of the second order is about 100000. The linear dispersion is about 1mm/Å. In the maximum of the 21st cycle of solar activity, from February, 1980, to May, 1981, we have got altogether 16 sets of flare spectrograms. With this observational material we are planning to engage in the study of the following topics: (1)the mechanism of transport of energy in flares, (2)the deviations of flares from the state of thermodynamical equilibrium, (3)the combination of ground-based and space observations, (4) morphological researches. We have begun to reduce our flare spectrograms.
