The Relationships Linking Solar Activity to Weather and Climate

More Information
  • Received Date: January 31, 1985
  • Published Date: December 14, 1985
  • The reported relationships linking solar variability to weather and climate and the possible mechanisms for coupling the energetics of solar activity to meteorological responses are reviewed. It briefly covers some of the concepts of atmospheric structure and variability, some examples of short and long-term meteorological correlations with solar variability and some of more recent suggestions concerning the possible physical mechanisms.
