Abstract
In the present paper, we have statistically analysed the spatial distribution of the major sunspots during the period June 1976-June 1984 of the 21st Cycle. We. have obtained the following conclusions: (1) The sunspots cluster in certain zones of heliographic longitude, Viz. :340°-320°, 300°-240° and 220°-100°. (2) The distributions of the sunspots in the northern and southern hemispheres are asymmetric. (3) The distribution of spatial spectra of the sunspots were derived by using the method of autocorrelation analysis. The main results is: The autocorrelation function R (τ) is maximum for τ=18. This shows again that the probability for sunspots to appear is higher when the active regions of the sunspots are in their first rotation.
