Abstract
The Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect of the thermal electrons in a rich cluster on the IR-background is studied in this paper according to the observed data of the Coma Cluster. The explanation that the IR-background may be an approximate black body radiation, given by Carr et al., is discussed in detail.The results show that the distortion of the IR-backgroundΔIv/Iv~10-3-10-4. Inaddition, the relation between the distortion and the wavelengths and cluster parametersτ, θ is also obtained. Hence it is proposed that the temperature and the density of electrons in a rich cluster and the Hubble constant H0 may be determined from the observations of the IR-background distortion.
