An Approach to the Determination of the Order of the MEM Power Spectrum in the Non-Linear Process

Abstract
The formulas of the MEM power spectrum derived from the linear process and Burg's spectral estimates are used to determine the autoregressive coefficient and then the MEM power spectrum of the recorded data of the shorter time sequence in the non-linear harmonic process with noise is found. Firstly, by means of the simulated signals of the harmonics with the given frequency and noise one may search out the pattern to obtain the MEM power spectrum of the recorded data of the shorter time sequence in this kind of processes. Then, the pattern is applied to a real process for finding the MEM power spectrum. The cycle found for the MEM power spectrum accords with the one of the real process, Meanwhile, the regular pattern of the empirical selection of orders for finding the MEM power spectrum of the recorded data of the longer time sequence in this kind of processes is also given in this paper.
