THE OUTLOOK AND FUTURE OF THE SOLAR ACTIVITY CYCLE 22

More Information
  • Published Date: October 30, 1989
  • A new sunspot group appeared on October 3, 1986. The group was a high-latitude(N33), reversed polarity bipole. It indicated that the cycle 22 was beginning. The solar activity was increasing gradually since then. Seven months later, it was calculated and ascertained that monthly smoothed sunspot number passed a minimum of 12.3 in September 1986. From then on two and half years had passed. What characteristics does the cycle 22 has??? It is an important problem that many people concern with. The authors pose a point of view in the aspects of observations and predictions.
