More Information
  • Published Date: October 30, 1989
  • 1988 was the second year of the ascending branch of Cycle 22 of solar activities, which increased, swift and violent. According to the plan of joint observation and research of the major events of the whole solar-terrestrial behaviour of the Solar Maximum Years(SMY) of Cycle 22, the SMY Joint Observation and Prediction Group issued five joint observation predictions and got up or coordinated the joint observations of solar activities with 40 instruments of 22 institutes (or observing stations), including the ones for researches on solar physics, space physics, atmospheric physics and geophysics, from March, 1988, to January of 1989.
