Abstract
The morphology, characteristics and interactions between the sunspots of the active region, Boulder AR5278, are described and preliminarily analysed in this paper. The results show that during the passage of the active region across the solar disk, the filaments of the penumbra of the preceding sunspot present a comparatively apparent tangential arrangement, the interaction of the magnetic fields and the separation and rotation of sunspots along the neutral line, that the magntic axis of the main sunspot is nearly perpendicular to the solar equator and that the newly emerging flux is drawing close to a sunspot with the opposite polarity, belonging to another sunspot group, and they are combined into one.Probably the characteristics mentioned above have close relation to the high energy events produced in this active region.
