Abstract
The Zhuang nationality is the offspring of one of the nationalities for the worship of the dragon. Because there was no writing system of the nationality, whether it had its independent astronomical almanacs historically remains a mystery to this day and even its traditional new year has also been forgotten. Starting with the on-the-spot investigation and comparing the results with the relevant documentary data, the authors ascertain that the Zhuang's traditional new year is the very June Day, which has been handed down up to now, near the Great Heat(i.e. the 12th solar term) and has evolved from the Summer Solstice(or the 10th Solar term). In addition, it is inferred that the almanac likely belongs to the lunisolar calendar system.
