The region,noted in Yunnan Observatory Series Number 89363(Boulder:5629),isthe second most active region since the beginning of the 22th solar maximum.It becamemore active since 12 Aug.and reached maximum on 17 Aug.It produced a X3/3B flareon 14,and a X1/SF flare on 15 Aug.,which caused aurora and geomagnetic distur bance.
