NONLINEAR ANALYSIS OF THE NONLOCAL GRADIENT DRIFT INSTABILITY IN THE DAYTIME EQUATORIAL ELECTROJET(Abstract)

    Abstract
  • The large scale waves observed in the daytime equatorial electrojet can not be satis-factorily explained even by using nonlocal theory.In this paper,we attempt to developa nonlinear model for the nonlocal gradient drift instability based on simplicity and phys-ics intuition.Nonlinear Saturation is obtained by considering the interactions between(m,n) and(0,2n) modes.
