NONLOCAL ANALYSIS OF GRADIENT DRIFT INSTABILITY IN THE DAYTIME EQUATORIAL ELECTROJET

Abstract
A simple basic equation for nonlocal gradient drift instability has been derived and analytically solved. It has been found out that the phase velocities and the growth rates are depend on both the wavenumbers and the mode numbers. The preliminary results can not completely explained the dominance of the kilometers waves, but the analytic solutions will be helpful for further nonlinear analysis.
