A Test for the Determination of the Position of A Celestial Body with A CCD-TV

A method is proposed for the observation of the fast and accurate location of the artificial earth satellites(AES) with a CCD-TV attached to the 1.2-m telescope of the Yunnan Observatory. This work is a preliminary test for the use of a CCD-TV as a receiver to determine the relative and absolute accuracies by means of the analogue star images. According to the tests group by group, which is divided on the basis of various image digitizers, tapes and CCD video signals of different magnitudes. The accuracies are limited within ±0.5 pixel, which meets the requirements of the observed AES. The reasons for the errors are preliminarily analyzed.
