The Ionosphere and the Propagtion Path of Radio Waves

  • The Ionosphere from the supposition to the confirmation was resulted edtirely from the development of the radio technique. The chapman's ionosphere theory had already been confirmed by the surveyes of the radio waves on ground-based and of the rockets and satellites in space. The atmosphere in the high layer are ionized by the solar UV and X—ray. The ionospheric medium is a mixture of electrons, positive ions, negative ions and neutral particles, which form the magnetic-ion medium. According to the magnetic-ion theory, the plasma frequency characteristics have been studied and the radio wave reflection characterisitics of the ionospheres D,E,F1, F2 have been explained, in this paper Finally, the propagation time delay in the ionospheres wave guide from Shanxi Observatory to Yunnan Observatroy has been calculated and the significant result is obtained.
