Abstract
The application of the video CCD system to the position determination of celestial objects is briefly described in this paper. The scale factor and positional accuracy of the system are discussed. Two methods are presented for determining the scale. It is considered that the main effect on the scale and positional accuracy is related to the image card adopted in the system. The work will be of significant for the use of the video CCD system in astronomy.
