A Study of the Characteristic Quantities of the Stokes Profiles of the Stellar Atmosphere in the Magnetic Field

  • The relation between some of the characteristic quantities of the Stokes profiles of the stellar atmosphere with the magnetic field and the magnetic field strength is theoretically explored.The results show that I,Q,U and V reach theis absolute maxima at the place quite close to the Zeeman Splitting quantity ΔλH under the condition of the strong field case and a good measurement of the field strength is given by means of Hale's method.Finally,the corresponding test is carried out with the synthetic profiles.
