Automated Design of Test System for Fiber Array IFU

  • To improve the test system for fiber array IFU of Yunnan Observatories, a visualized and automated function base on Python is developed. According to testing process, it can accomplish optical components switching, continuous defocus control of imaging system, automated acquiring and processing data and so on by one-touch operation, and it can test accuracy for position of fiber array, position of lenslet array, FRD of fiber and transmittance of fiber. A function has been added for testing accuracy of fiber position along optical axis at pseudo slit, and is verified by the automated function in the lab. After update, it can shorten the testing time from several weeks to one day, which greatly improves the working efficiency and it also can promote the development of fiber array processing technology in China.
