A Delta-T Value from the Record of Central Eclipse on January 13, 1507

  • In the Qing Dynasty Qianlong Anhui Tongling County Chronicle, there was an observation record of a central eclipse (collectively referred to as total solar eclipse and annular solar eclipse) in January 1507 (the 2nd year of Zhengde of Ming Dynastry). The author uses the modern astronomical planetary ephemeris to calculate the eclipse of this solar eclipse, and then obtains the correction number of the UT (Universal Time) at that time. Combined with the observation records of this solar eclipse in Dongxiang County Chronicle of Jiangxi in Jiajing of Ming Dynasty and Wangjiang County Chronicle of Anhui in Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty, the observable situation of this solar eclipse in Dongxiang and Wangjiang counties is further analyzed. The results of this study have reference value for related researches about secular change in the Earth's rotation.
