The Balance Altitude of the Filament Current Within A General Current Circuit

  • Among the various filament current circuits, the Kip penhahn-Schluter Model curret circuit and the Kuperus-Raadu Model current circuit are extreme cases. In this paper, relations between the filament current and the balance altitude are investigated within a general current circuit. The main results obtained are: (1)when the direction of the Lorentz Force interacting between the filament current and the magnetic field in an active region is same asthe direction of the filament gravity, the larger the current flowing from the filament to the photosphere layer is, the larger the rate in the filament current is, and the stable the filament is. (2)when the two directions are adversed from each other, the larger the currentflowing from the filament to the photosphere layer is, the larger the rate is, and the instabler the filament is.
