Development of Solar Optical Research at Yunnan Observatory

The achievement obtained at Yunnan Observatory within 20 years is summarized and reviewed in this paper with respect to research and reform of solar optical instrument, observation and study of solar active phenomena, solar activity forecast, and international academic cooperations.
