What Tasks can be Done After the LLMC is Equipped With a Scientific CCD

  • After the LLMC is equipped with a scientific CCD, the following tasks can be made. First, the instrument can provide the positions of nearlyten thousands extragalactic objects, and the positions and proper motions of several million stars as faint as 17. 5 mag to construct a quasi-inertial reference frames. Second, the instrument can provide high precision observations of some natural satellites and asteroids to construct a dynamical reference frame and to serve for the study of the solar dy namics. Third, the instrument can provide some info rmation for the study of the Galaxy and some astrophysical topics. Last, the meridian circle can provide some information on the dy namics of our earth and the earthquake.
