Observational Characteristics of Complex-Type Solar Bursts

  • There were 158 solar bursts (45C, with two or more peaks and the single-frequency fluxes of <500 s.f.u.) recorded during 2000-2005 with the Chinese Solar Broadband Radiospectrometer simultaneously in the frequency ranges of 1.10-2.06GHz, 2.6-3.6GHz, and 5.2-7.6GHz. Among them 139 bursts are associated with high-energy events; 3 events are with X-class flares; 86 events are with M-class flares; and 44 events are with C-class flares. There are 36, 29, and 20 events associated with CME, type II bursts, and type IV bursts, respectively. In the 76 bursts among them there are a variety of fine structures, such as spike emission, fish structures, Zebra pattern, fiber bursts, DPSs (Drift Pulsation Structures), QPPs (Quasi Period Pulsations), type-M structures, fast-drifting structures, and so on.
