A Design for the Adjusting System of the Back Frame of the Xinjiang 1.3cm Radio Receiver

  • We design an adjusting system of the back frame of the Xinjiang 1.3cm dual-polarized cryogenic receiver made by our observatory based on the installation and observation requirements. The design uses appropriate ball screws of the Item company and driving motors of the Nanotec company required to meet mechanical properties. In the design the motors and the power supply are set in such a way that capacitors are connected to the motor, the motor is connected to the computer with a RS485-to-RS232 converter, and the entire system controlled by program commands. The motor-driving module is designed to be contained in a box which can be conveniently installed on the antenna after communication tests. The control software of the motor-driving system was developed with the Visual Basic 6.0 so that the receiver feed can be accurately controlled from terminal. Currently, the receiver is installed on the 25m anteena of our telescope with the adjusting system of back frame, and the receiver feed can be controlled through the software from our observation room, and it completely meets the requirement of the project.
