The Real-Time Compensation of Wavefront Tilt for Extended Source Objects Based on a High-Speed PCI-Express Image Acquisition System

  • We use a correlation tracking adaptive optics system to compensate the wavefront tilt in lunar laser ranging caused by atmospheric turbulence in real time.To handle large computational amounts and meet high real-time requirements,we innovatively design a high-speed image acquisition card based on PCI-Express and a hardware RTAI real-time operating system driver so as to compensate atmospheric tilt for extended source objects in real time. After analyzing the hardware and software designs of the entire system,we present the design of the high-speed image acquisition system. It further enhances the image transmission speed, reduces the latency of the correlation tracking system, and improves system response bandwidth. The system achieves real-time data transmission (≤28us) and real-time compensation of wavefront tilt (≤348us).
