Design of the LCS for the 1m Infrared Solar Telescope of the Yunnan Observatory

  • This study first carries out thermal analysis of cooling objects of the 1m Infrared Solar Telescope of the Yunnan Observatory (YNST). Based on the results, we conclude that liquid cooling is the most appropriate method.We subsequently show the design of the liquid-cooling system (LCS) and the choices of its key components. We add qualitative-monitoring module and a circuit for the communications between such a module and the PLC. A flow-control circuit is also incorporated into the subsystem of the LCS for cooling the sealing glass. Our experiments show that the LCS meets the requirements of cooling relevant objects of the YNST and thus has a feasible design.
