Study on the Characteristic of Laser Ranging Based on Diffuse Reflection

The equations of Laser Ranging Based on Diffuse Reflection (LRBDR) for different models of target reflection are analyzed.General equations are derived theoretically for LRBDR using a 1.2m telescope by comparing the characteristics of Satellite Laser Ranging for cooperative targets to those of LRBDR.These equations involve the target shape, reflectivity, and diffuse-refection distribution function of the target surface.Finally, a test of LRBDR with a ground-based target has been carried out, and it is taken as an example of how to measure the specific parameters in the equations.
