Solution of Data Bus for the Space Solar Telescope

  • The on-board data-processing system of the Space Solar Telescope is required to process high-speed massive science data streams in real time.It is thus crucial to choose a right solution of space data bus.The SpaceWire is a new high-speed serial data-bus standard proposed by the European Space Agency, and it has been used and is planned to be used in many missions of ESA and NASA.In the Space Solar Telescope project, the SpaceWire will be used to establish transmission network between the five instruments and Scientific Data Processing Unit.Through analyzing the SpaceWire standard, we design a fault-tolerant scheme of the dual redundant bus based on the SpaceWire.We subsequently build a test platform based on DSP+FPGA, and show the software/hardware design as well as the test results.
