Construction of the SkyNode System for Chinese Virtual Observatory

  • With "data avalanche" faced in astronomy and the mature of information technologies such as the grid technology,the Virtual Observatory(VO) comes into being.Based on the data grid technology,the VO is an effective way to resolve the query and management of complicated and abundant astronomical data.We have designed and realized the lower layer infrastructure of the China-VO.Moreover the important part of the China-VO,named as the astronomical Sky Node is implemented.The Sky Node can release and manage different data resources,provide the uniform data access interface for users and make it convenient for astronomer to obtain and process different kinds of astronomical data.In this paper,we mainly introduce the structure and functions of the Sky Node as well as the realization of the key technology of the Sky Node.
