Fast Computation of Satellite Topocentric Coordinates

  • The fast computation of satellite topocentric coordinates is presented in this paper. The features of this method are following. Even numbers of satellite observations in the same pass are much more, the coordinates of the station need to compute only once. Without the basic knowledge of spherical triangular, the formulae can be derived. To improve the accuracy for computing the satellite topocentric coordinates, the formulae to modify the Earth rotation, polar motion, SLR system time-delay, atmosphere refraction, the satellite mass-center correction, various dynamic systematic errors of the SLR tracking telescope are given. However, the formulae needed in fact are still concise and computation times in both triangular functions and arithmetic operation are less than other methods. The method is first used to test detection of dynamic systematic errors for SLR tracking telescope at Shanghai Observatory.
