Upgrading the Solar Radio Flux Telescope with the Frequency of 2.84GHz

  • The solar radio flux telescope with the frequency of 2.84GHz is an important instrument to monitor and forecast the solar activities by collecting and analyzing the solarradio fluxes. At the beginning of the 21st century, the regular monitoring by using such an instrument was stopped due to ageing of most components and difficult to repair during the long running. Now we have updated the microwave front-end,the analog receiving system, the digital acquisition system, the storage and display system, and the 2m parabolic antenna to the system. In the new system we adopted a radiometer for k-factor measurement and a new self-calibration technique which makes the calibration more efficient and accurate. At present, the upgraded solar radio flux telescope working at 2.84GHz has achieved some good results.
